Johny The Greek's Cornerback Corner: Week 13
What are the best CB options for IDP fantasy football leagues in Week 13?
Welcome back to the Cornerback Corner! As is tradition, we’ll start with transparency and get right into this week’s calls.
Last week, I made 74 calls for leagues of all shapes and sizes. Of those 74 calls, 5 were declared inactive or were injured during play, which caused them to miss their projection (early in the game). Subtracting those players, we’re left with 69 “adjusted” calls.
Of those, 46 were correct (matched, beat, or were within a slim margin of their projection on Yahoo and MFL), and 23 were incorrect (didn’t match or beat projection and weren’t even close), giving us 66% accuracy for Week 12.
Of those 46 correct calls, 20 were “massive hits” (doubled, tripled, or more, their projection), giving us a 43% massive hit rate on correct calls for Week 12.
We are 72% accurate overall for the season, with 38% of all correct calls ending up as “massive hits.”
Week 1: 72% accuracy, 41% massive hit rate
Week 2: 73% accuracy, 46% massive hit rate
Week 3: 65% accuracy, 45% massive hit rate
Week 4: 73% accuracy, 36% massive hit rate
Week 5: 75% accuracy, 32% massive hit rate
Week 6: 67% accuracy, 34% massive hit rate
Week 7: 75% accuracy, 38% massive hit rate
Week 8: 75% accuracy, 30% massive hit rate
Week 9: 76% accuracy, 32% massive hit rate
Week 10: 72% accuracy, 36% massive hit rate
Week 11: 75% accuracy, 43% massive hit rate
Week 12: 66% accuracy, 43% massive hit rate
Please see THIS if you need a primer in cornerback streaming or what’s being discussed in this article (for new readers).
If you notice a player playing safety who is designated a corner in your league of merit, please feel free to comment below, and I’ll update the article with that information.
Alignment & utilization metrics are sourced from PFF.com, an outstanding resource for all things fantasy football-related.
To this point in the season, these teams use 11 personnel (3 WR sets) the least week-to-week (go from the bottom up on this list). Your opposing slot corners (Sainristil, Phillips, etc) will likely see a significant reduction in playing time against these teams. Thank you to sumersports.com for the information.
Packers at Lions
Outlook: The early total for the first of three Thanksgiving Day games sits at 48.5 points with Detroit favored by a field goal at home. Detroit is a top-ten team for passing offense (YPG), while Green Bay is just outside the top-ten. Both teams are within the bottom third of the league for wide receiver targets per game. We can fire up the usual suspects in medium to deeper leagues and hope that Vegas is correct, and we get a shootout/back-and-forth affair.
Green Bay Packers
Keisean Nixon/Nate Hobbs/Kamal Hadden (CB): Nixon was injured last week, but it’s being described as a “stinger,” so the odds are good he can play this week in his normal full-time outside cornerback role. Nate Hobbs would be the preferred backup if he can’t play, and Hadden only had snaps since Hobbs was also inactive last week. (SIT Hadden, Hobbs is SOLID if Nixon is inactive, Nixon is SOLID if he can play).
Carrington Valentine (CB): SOLID. He played 100% of snaps as an outside cornerback last week.
Javon Bullard (S/CB): SOLID, deeper leagues only, he played 54% of snaps last week from the slot and box. Use the link at the top of the article to help determine if your slot corner will lose snaps in their given matchup each week.
Detroit Lions
Terrion Arnold (CB): SOLID if healthy. He was inactive last week as he continues to heal from a concussion. If he can play, this is a full-time outside cornerback role.
DJ Reed (CB): SOLID, deeper leagues only, risky. He only played 37% of snaps as an outside corner last week, but was on IR before that (they’re easing him back into the lineup). He should play more this week, but it’s risky to trust that until we actually see it.
Amik Robertson (CB): SOLID if Reed or Arnold is inactive, SIT if they’re both playing. This is a full-time outside cornerback slot. Amik is the preferred backup corner in Detroit, but has a reduced role when Reed and Terrion are healthy.
All others (CB): SIT. No other corner crossed 6% of snaps played last week.
Chiefs at Cowboys
Outlook: The early total for the late afternoon Thanksgiving game sits at a massive 51.5 points with Kansas City favored by 4.5 points on the road. We have the number five and one overall passing attacks here, respectively. Dallas is a top-ten team for wide receiver targets, while Kansas City is just outside the top-ten. We can fire up everyone who’s breathing and plays cornerback for this one. This is an ideal matchup across the board.
Kansas City Chiefs
Chamarri Conner (S/CB): IDEAL. He played 100% of snaps last week and lined up all over the place (including plenty of box and slot snaps).
Trent McDuffie (CB): IDEAL. He played 100% of snaps last week as an outside cornerback, but also had some slot/box snaps as added value. Between his historical production, real-world talent level, and this matchup, he’s a good bet for a great game this week.
Jaylen Watson (CB): SOLID. He played 100% of snaps last week as an outside cornerback.
Dallas Cowboys
DaRon Bland (CB): IDEAL. He played 95% of snaps last week, most from outside corner, but also with a good chunk in the slot/box. He’s been under projection just once since Week 7.
All others (CB): SIT. Seriously. There were four other corners that played last week beyond Bland, none of them crossed 60% of snaps played. Many of these names were players I didn’t know existed until last week. Beyond Bland, this entire cornerback corps is in flux.
Bengals at Ravens
Outlook: The night game for Thanksgiving has an early total of 51.5 points with Baltimore favored by a touchdown at home. It will be “deeper leagues only” for our Cincy corners against a Baltimore passing attack that is the 4th worst in the league, and a passing offense that is ranked 31st overall (second worst) for wide receiver targets each week.
It will be an ideal matchup for the glizzy gobbler, Marlon Humphrey, and our Baltimore corners against the likely return of Joe Burrow and a Cincy offense that is just outside the top-ten for passing yards per game and is number two overall for wide receiver targets. Jamar Chase and his ten-plus wide receiver targets each week will be back in the lineup to help our Baltimore corners this week, which is another positive factor.
Cincinnati Bengals
Dax Hill (S/CB): SOLID. He played 97% of snaps last week and lined up in the box/slot for a decent chunk of his snaps.
DJ Turner (CB): SOLID. He played 97% of snaps last week as an outside cornerback.
All others (CB): SIT. There were another four corners that combined to cover this last slot for Cincy last week, none of them crossed 59% of snaps, and many of them were names I’ve never seen before. This last slot continues to be in flux.
Baltimore Ravens
Marlon Humphrey (CB): IDEAL. He played 100% of snaps last week and had a nice amount of box/slot snaps and some blitzing attempts. He has been over his projection in all three games since announcing to the world that he plans to gobble 50 glizzies in 50 states.
Nate Wiggins (CB): SOLID. He played 100% of snaps as an outside cornerback last week.
Chidobe Awuzie (CB): SIT. With Humphrey healthy, his playing time plummeted to just 39% of snaps last week. He only plays enough if Wiggins or Humphrey is inactive, just like I said last week.
Bears at Eagles
Outlook: The Black Friday game for Week 13 sits at 44.5 points for the early total with Philly favored by a touchdown at home. Chicago is within the middle of the pack for passing yards per game, while Philly is within the bottom third of the league for this ranking. Chicago is a top-ten team for wide receiver targets, while Philly is within the bottom third of the league once more.
We’ve got an ideal matchup for Cooper DeJean and our Philadelphia options, but it will be “deeper leagues only” for Tyrique Stevenson and our Chicago corners in Week 13. Beyond that, this Chicago cornerback corps (and defense in general) is shredded with injury; we don’t need to “force it” in a bad matchup like this one with that in mind. We also don’t have any teams on bye this week, so we have more options than usual.
Chicago Bears
Tyrique Stevenson (CB): SIT. He reinjured his hip last week and is looking doubtful for this week. The matchup stinks beyond that, and with the reinjury risk, it’s better to just skip him this week.
Jaylon Johnson/Nahshon Wright (CB): I would SIT them both. This is Johnson’s slot; he was activated off IR last week and should be back in the lineup this week. However, Wright has been excellent, so the odds are good that he maintains some kind of role (he’s tied for the league lead in picks this season). I have zero idea who the Chicago coaching staff will go with this week, and the matchup stinks, so we’ll skip it entirely. Better to play it safe than guess wrong and get a zero out of it.
Kyler Gordon/Chauncey Gardner Johnson (CB): Kyler (SIT) was activated off of IR last week and should be back in the lineup this week. This is his slot, but just like with the Johnson/Wright situation, Gardner Johnson has been excellent. I have no idea which direction Chicago will go with this. SIT them both instead of guessing wrong and eating a zero. Philly barely targets their wide receivers to begin with, so we aren’t missing much.
Philadelphia Eagles
Cooper DeJean (CB): IDEAL. He played 100% of snaps last week and had a nice chunk of slot/box snaps, as is tradition. He had another excellent week and remains a fantastic option in a great matchup for Week 13.
Quinyon Mitchell (CB): SOLID. He played 100% of snaps as an outside cornerback last week.
All others (CB): SIT. We had three corners combined to cover this last slot; none of them played more than 35% of snaps. This slot remains in flux.
49ers at Browns
Outlook: The early total for this battle in Cleveland sits at 42.5 points with San Francisco favored by a touchdown on the road. San Francisco is the second-best team in the league for passing yards per game, while Cleveland is the second-worst team in the league for this ranking. Both teams are within the bottom third of the league for targeting their wide receivers each week. It will be “deeper leagues only” across the board for this one.
San Francisco 49ers
Deommodore Lenoir (CB): SOLID. He played 97% of snaps last week as an outside corner.
Renardo Green (CB): SOLID. He played 84% of snaps last week as an outside corner.
Upton Stout (CB): SOLID, deeper leagues only. He played 58% of snaps last week as the slot corner.
Cleveland Browns
Tyson Campbell (CB): IDEAL, he played 100% of snaps as an outside cornerback last week but has only been under projection twice this entire season despite the less-than-ideal role and utilization. Sometimes you just have to go with the hot hand.
Denzel Ward (CB): SOLID. He played 91% of snaps last week as an outside cornerback.
Myles Harden (CB): SOLID, deeper leagues only. He played 62% of snaps last week as the slot corner.
Jaguars at Titans
Outlook: The early total for this AFC South battle sits at 41.5 points with Jacksonville favored by a touchdown on the road. Jacksonville is among the middle of the pack for passing yards per game, while Tennessee is the third-worst team in the league for this ranking. Jacksonville is a top-five team for wide receiver targets, while Tennessee is within the middle of the pack. We can fire up our Tennessee corners in an ideal matchup, but it will be “deeper leagues only” for our Jags corners in Week 13.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Jourdan Lewis/Jarrian Jones (CB): SOLID. Lewis was inactive again last week but resumed practicing. He should return this week as the full-time slot corner for Jacksonville and would be SOLID when he does. Jones was his replacement and only has value if Lewis is inactive (SIT him if Lewis is active, SOLID if Lewis is inactive).
Montaric Brown (CB): SOLID. He played 98% of snaps last week as an outside cornerback.
Christian Braswell/Greg Newsome (CB): SIT. They split this last role 66% of snaps to 32% of snaps. Newsome is healthy, so this looks like a slot motion displacement. SIT them both for now while we wait for this to shake out.
Tennessee Titans
Darrell Baker Jr (CB): SOLID. He played 100% of snaps last week as an outside cornerback.
Marcus Harris/Jaylyn Armor Davis/Samuel Womack (CB): SIT them all. None of these corners cleared 62% of snaps played last week, and they all had a small part in covering the remaining cornerback slots. Beyond Baker Jr, everything is in flux for this cornerback corps in Tennessee.
Texans at Colts
Outlook: The early total for this AFC South battle in Indy sits at 46.5 points with Indianapolis favored by 4.5 points at home. Indianapolis is a top-ten team for passing yards per game, while Houston is among the middle of the pack. Houston is now a top-five team for wide receiver targets, while Indy is within the middle of the pack. We can fire up our normal options in medium to deeper leagues, but this matchup has the potential to be better than that if we get some sustained drives.
Fingers crossed for another week of Davis Mills, he’s been a God-send for the Houston wide receiver targets ranking and Nico Collins in particular.
Houston Texans
Derek Stingley (CB): SOLID. He played 100% of snaps as an outside corner last week.
Kamari Lassiter (CB): IDEAL. He played 100% of snaps as an outside corner last week and has only been under projection twice this season.
Jalen Pitre/Myles Bryant (S/CB): IDEAL for Pitre if he can play; he was inactive again last week, but his slot role and production have been well-established this season. Bryant replaced him last week and played 74% of snaps from the slot and box. Bryant would be SOLID if Pitre is inactive, SIT otherwise.
Indianapolis Colts
Sauce Gardner (CB): SOLID. He played 100% of snaps as an outside cornerback last week.
Kenny Moore (CB): IDEAL. He played 87% of snaps last week, mostly from the slot and box (which is exactly what we want to see).
Chavarious Ward (CB): SOLID. He played 93% of snaps last week as an outside cornerback.
Mekhi Blackmon (CB): SIT. With the return of Ward, Blackmon was down to just 5% of snaps played last week. I updated the article with this warning late last week, but some may have missed it with the late news that Ward was activated and starting in Week 12. My apologies if you did.
Saints at Dolphins
Outlook: The early total for this battle in South Beach sits at 42.5 points with Miami favored by 4.5 points at home. Both teams are in the middle of the pack for passing yards per game. New Orleans is just outside the top ten for wide receiver targets each week, while Miami is among the middle of the pack for this ranking. We can fire up our normal options in medium to deeper leagues, and this one has the potential to be better than that for our Dolphins corners if things shake out right.
New Orleans Saints
Alontae Taylor (CB): IDEAL. He played 100% of snaps last week and lined up all over the place, including over half of his total snaps coming from the box or slot.
Koolaid McKinstry (CB): SOLID. He played 100% of snaps last week as an outside cornerback.
Quincy Riley (CB): SOLID, much deeper leagues only. He played 48% of snaps last week as an outside cornerback.
Miami Dolphins
Jack Jones (CB): SOLID. He played 98% of snaps as an outside cornerback in Week 11 (bye last week).
Rasul Douglas/Juju Brents (CB): Rasul was inactive in Week 11, but would be SOLID in deeper leagues (reinjury risk) if he can play this week. Brents would be his replacement if he’s inactive and would be SOLID, deeper leagues only, and a SIT if Douglas can play.
All others (CB): SIT. No other corner cleared 28% of snaps played in Week 11.
Falcons at Jets
Outlook: The early total for this likely defensive struggle sits at just 39.5 points with Atlanta favored by 1.5 points on the road. Atlanta is in the middle of the pack for passing yards per game, while New York is dead last across the entire league for this ranking (at the time of writing). Atlanta is in the middle of the pack for wide receiver targets, while New York is the third-worst team for this ranking.
We can fire up our New York corners in medium to deeper leagues, but it will be “deeper leagues only” for our Atlanta corners, as Tyrod wasn’t much better than Fields was at completing passes.
Atlanta Falcons
AJ Terrell (CB): SOLID. He played 95% of snaps last week as an outside cornerback.
Mike Hughes (CB): SOLID. He played 93% of snaps last week as an outside cornerback.
Dee Alford (CB): SOLID. He is now the primary slot corner with Bowman headed to IR. He played 77% of snaps from the slot last week. Grab him now, sit him this week (matchup), and keep him around for the playoff push/playoffs, would be my recommendation.
Billy Bowman (S/CB): SIT. He was sent to IR last week and will miss the rest of the season.
New York Jets
Brandon Stephens (CB): SOLID. He played 98% of snaps as an outside corner last week.
Azareyeh Thomas (CB): SOLID. He played 92% of snaps as an outside corner last week.
Jarvis Brownlee (CB): SIT. He only played 36% of snaps last week. We got our answer: when both Brownlee and Thomas are healthy, they prefer Thomas.
Cardinals at Buccaneers
Outlook: The early total for this one sits at 49.5 points with Tampa Bay favored by a touchdown at home. Both teams are in the middle of the pack for passing yards per game. Tampa Bay is a top ten team for wide receiver targets, while Arizona is within the bottom third of the league for this ranking. We can fire up our Arizona corners in an ideal matchup, but it will be “medium to deeper leagues” for our Tampa Bay corners.
Demote our Arizona corners if Mayfield can’t play this week. Surprisingly, Brissett has been a massive improvement for the Arizona wide receiver targets ranking. Let’s hope that trend continues this week. The new Call of Duty (Doody if we’re being honest) just dropped, so Kyler would have been busy regardless, even if he were healthy.
Arizona Cardinals
Garrett Williams (CB): SOLID. He played 100% of snaps last week, with many of those snaps coming from the slot and box. This would be IDEAL if Baker were playing and the Buccaneers had any healthy receivers beyond Egbuka. It still can be if he’s active and we get both Egbuka and a healthy version of Godwin.
Will Johnson/Denzel Burke (CB): Johnson was inactive last week with a back injury; he would be a risky (reinjury) SOLID if he can play this week. Burke replaced him and played 100% of snaps as an outside corner. Burke would be SOLID if Johnson is inactive, SIT otherwise.
Max Melton/Kei’Trel Clarke (CB): SIT. They played just 24% and 38% of snaps, respectively, last week.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tykee Smith (S/CB): IDEAL. He played 100% of snaps, lined up everywhere, and had yet another outstanding week of production in Week 12. He remains a “set and forget” at cornerback or safety.
Zyon McCollum (CB): SOLID. He played 100% of snaps as an outside cornerback last week.
Jamel Dean/Benjamin Morrison (CB): SIT. Both were inactive last week, with hip and hamstring injuries, respectively. The reinjury risk is my concern, but if you need one of these two, then it’s Dean as the starter, Morrison as the direct replacement.
Jacob Parrish (CB): SOLID. He shot up to 100% of snaps last week and had a nice chunk of slot snaps, but I’m betting that had more to do with Dean and Morrison being inactive than anything else. He does see slot snaps most weeks, so he should be a safe start regardless.
Rams at Panthers
Outlook: The early total for this battle in Carolina sits at 45.5 points with Los Angeles favored by 9.5 points on the road. Los Angeles is a top ten team for passing yards per game, while Carolina is in the bottom third of the league for this ranking. Both teams are within the top ten for targeting their wide receivers each week. We’ve got an ideal matchup for Jaycee Horn and our Carolina options, but it will be “medium to deeper leagues” for our Los Angeles corners in Week 13.
Los Angeles Rams
Emmanuel Forbes (CB): SOLID. He played 72% of snaps as an outside corner last week.
Cobie Durant (CB): SOLID. He played 71% of snaps as an outside corner last week.
Darious Williams (CB): SOLID, deeper leagues only. He played just 55% of snaps as an outside corner last week.
Carolina Panthers
Mike Jackson (CB): IDEAL. He played 100% of snaps as an outside corner last week. He is the safest option to take advantage of this spectacular matchup as things stand at the time of writing.
Jaycee Horn/Akayleb Evans (CB): Horn was concussed after 54% of snaps and two interceptions last week. He would be SOLID but risky due to possible reinjury if he could play this week. Evans is his backup according to the depth charts, but he played only a few snaps after Horn exited the game (SIT Evans).
Chau Smith Wade/Corey Thornton (CB): SIT Chau Smith Wade; he only played 34% of snaps last week, and his playing time continues to plummet. Thornton was seeing a bump in playing time these last two weeks anyway, and is probably the most likely to see an increase in snaps if Horn is inactive this week. It’s super risky, but it’s there if you need it (assuming Horn is inactive). This matchup almost makes it worth the risk, and this would be a “much deeper leagues only” kind of move in the first place.
Vikings at Seahawks
Outlook: The early total for this one sits at 43.5 points with Seattle favored by a touchdown at home. Seattle is a top ten team for passing yards per game, while Minnesota is now within the bottom third of the league for this ranking. Minnesota is in the middle of the pack for wide receiver targets, while Seattle is in the bottom third of the league. It will be “deeper leagues only” for our Seattle corners against this Vikings passing attack that continues to struggle mightily, and medium to deeper leagues for our Minnesota corners in Week 13.
Minnesota Vikings
Josh Metellus (S/CB): IDEAL. He played 83% of snaps last week, most of them from the box, slot, or defensive line. He likely sat early due to the blowout.
Byron Murphy (CB): SOLID. He played 95% of snaps last week as an outside corner.
Isaiah Rogers (CB): SOLID. He played 95% of snaps last week as an outside corner.
Seattle Seahawks
Nick Emmanwori (S/CB): SOLID. He played 97% of snaps last week, most of them coming from the slot or box. He would be IDEAL if the matchup wasn’t so terrible.
Devon Witherspoon (CB): SOLID. He played 94% of snaps last week, many of them coming from the slot or box. This would be IDEAL if it weren’t JJ McCarthy or yet another backup as the opponent this week.
Josh Jobe (CB): SOLID, deeper leagues only; he played 77% of snaps as an outside corner last week.
Tariq Woolen (CB): SOLID, much deeper leagues only, risky. He played 64% of snaps as an outside corner last week and appears to be maintaining this role despite the return of Jobe.
Bills at Steelers
Outlook: The early total for this physical battle sits at 47 points with Buffalo favored by 4.5 points on the road. Buffalo is a top ten team for passing yards per game, while Pittsburgh is in the middle of the pack. Buffalo is in the middle of the pack for wide receiver targets, while Pittsburgh is dead last across the league for this ranking. We can fire up Jalen Ramsey and company in medium to deeper leagues, but it will be “deeper leagues only” for Taron Johnson and our Buffalo options for Week 13.
Buffalo Bills
Taron Johnson (CB): SOLID, deeper leagues only. He played 69% of snaps, nice, from the slot last week, but Pittsburgh is one of the worst teams in the league for 11 personnel (see the link at the top of the article), so we’ll demote him a bit.
Christian Benford (CB): SOLID. He played 94% of snaps as an outside corner last week.
Tre’Davious White/Maxwell Hairston (CB): SIT. They continue to split this final cornerback slot, 55% and 49% of snaps, respectively, last week. This matchup isn’t good enough to float that kind of (bad) playing time.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Jalen Ramsey (S/CB): IDEAL. He played 100% of snaps last week as a starting safety that’s incorrectly designated a corner in Yahoo. He had a good chunk of box and slot snaps as well.
Joey Porter Jr/James Pierre (CB): Porter was injured last week, but would be SOLID as a full-time outside corner if he can play this week. Pierre replaced him and maintained his role as the preferred replacement corner in Pittsburgh. Pierre would be SOLID if Porter is inactive, SIT otherwise.
Darius Slay (CB): SIT. He played just 30% of snaps last week and isn’t injured. This could be a one-week thing, but it’s better to play it safe.
Brandin Echols (CB): SOLID, deeper leagues only; he played 53% of snaps from the slot last week.
Raiders at Chargers
Outlook: The early total for this AFC West showdown sits at 42.5 points with Los Angeles favored by 8.5 points at home. Los Angeles is a top ten team for passing yards per game, while Las Vegas is within the bottom third of the league. Los Angeles has the most wide receiver targets in the league at the time of writing, while Las Vegas is the 4th-worst for this ranking. It will be “deeper leagues only” for our Los Angeles corners, but an ideal matchup for Eric Stokes and our Las Vegas corners in Week 13.
Unfortunately for us, the matchup for Las Vegas is perfect, but their cornerback options are not. See below for details.
Las Vegas Raiders
Eric Stokes (CB): SOLID. He played 100% of snaps as an outside corner last week. This would be IDEAL except that Stokes hasn’t had a “massive hit” type of game this entire season.
Kyu Blu Kelly/Darien Porter (CB): SOLID, much deeper leagues only. These two continued to split the “other” full-time corner slot in Las Vegas last week to the tune of 51% of snaps and 49% of snaps, respectively. The matchup is the only reason I would even consider either of these two (it’s fantastic), and I would only play them in the deepest and darkest of degenerate leagues.
Los Angeles Chargers
Cam Hart (CB): SOLID, deeper leagues only. He played 66% of snaps as an outside corner in Week 11 and likely sat early due to that blowout against Jacksonville.
Donte Jackson (CB): SOLID, deeper leagues only. He played 53% of snaps as an outside corner in Week 11 and likely sat early due to that blowout against Jacksonville.
Elijah Molden (S/CB): SOLID but risky. He has been playing as a third safety but is designated as a cornerback in Yahoo. He has seen full snaps in the last two games, but this could very easily be a rug-pull situation at some point. He’s been lining up deep for the most part. Proceed with caution; we’ve been rug-pulled by Molden before in prior seasons.
Benjamin St Juste/Tarheeb Still (CB): SIT them both. St Juste only played 40% of snaps in Week 11, while Still only played 33%. We’ll keep an eye on it, as Still did have nice value earlier this season before his multi-week injury.
Broncos at Commanders
Outlook: The early total for this one sits at 43.5 points with Denver favored by a touchdown on the road. Both teams are in the middle of the pack for passing yards per game. Washington is in the middle of the pack for wide receiver targets, while Denver is a top ten team for this ranking. We’ve got an ideal matchup for our Washington corners, but it will be “medium to deeper leagues” for Riley Moss and our Denver options in Week 13.
Denver Broncos
Riley Moss (CB): SOLID. He played 100% of snaps as an outside corner in Week 11.
Patrick Surtain/Kris Abrams Draine (CB): Surtain could return this week from IR. If he does, then he would be SOLID as a full-time outside corner. Draine is his direct replacement and would be SOLID, deeper leagues only, if Surtain is inactive again.
Jaquan McMillian (CB): McMillian is SOLID as a full-time slot corner if Surtain is inactive, SOLID (deeper leagues only) if Surtain is active, as McMillian has played less when Surtain and Moss are active.
Jahdae Barron (CB): SIT. He has not cleared 50% of snaps in any game yet this season, and that little playing time won’t cut it against Mariota or a shredded Commanders wide receiver corps.
Washington Commanders
Quan Martin (S/CB): SOLID, deeper leagues only. His playing time took a significant hit in Week 11, as it dropped to just 66% of snaps as a safety that’s incorrectly designated a corner in Yahoo.
Will Harris (S/CB): SIT. He could return from IR any day now and displace Reaves as a starting safety that’s incorrectly designated a corner in Yahoo. We need to see it first, though.
Mike Sainristil (CB): SOLID. He shot up to 100% of snaps as an outside corner in Week 11 as Lattimore and Amos both went to IR.
Jonathan Jones (CB): With Lattimore now on IR, Jones played 91% of snaps as an outside corner in Week 11. He would be SOLID this week.
All others (CB): No other corner crossed 51% of snaps for Washington in Week 11.
Giants at Patriots
Outlook: The early total for the Monday Night Football game to wrap up Week 13 sits at 46.5 points with New England favored by a touchdown at home. New England is a top ten team for passing yards per game, while New York is in the middle of the pack. Both teams are in the middle of the pack for wide receiver targets. We can fire up the usual suspects in medium to deeper leagues, and we should be looking good to close out Week 13.
New York Giants
Paulson Adebo/Deonte Banks (CB): Both corners were inactive last week. Adebo would be SOLID if he can play, Banks is his replacement, and would be SOLID if Adebo is inactive, SIT otherwise. This is a full-time outside corner slot.
Cor’Dale Flott (CB): SOLID. He played 100% of snaps as an outside corner last week.
Andru Phillips (CB): SOLID, deeper leagues only. He played 63% of snaps as the slot corner last week.
Korie Black (CB): SIT unless both Adebo and Banks are inactive again; in that scenario, he would be a full-time outside corner and be worth a start in deeper leagues.
New England Patriots
Carlton Davis (CB): SOLID. He played 100% of snaps as an outside corner last week.
Christian Gonzalez (CB): SOLID. He played 100% of snaps as an outside corner last week.
Marcus Jones (CB): IDEAL. He played 96% of snaps as a slot corner last week.
Byes this week: None
