Walking the IDP Waiver Wire: Week 4
If these IDPs are on your waivers, you should look to scoop them up!
We’ve had some great hits over the first few weeks of the season and we’re looking for that trend to continue once again this week! This is the time of season when we start to see some impatient managers get nervous and either drop players who are underperforming or accept trade offers for far less than they would have a few weeks ago. If you have some space or some later picks, maybe throw an offer to a manager of some of those higher-ranked players who are off to slow starts. You may be surprised what they bite on. That said, let’s look at this week’s waiver wire additions.
Defensive Line
Previous Week: Gregory Rousseau, Alex Highsmith, Dominique Robinson, Rasheem Green, Dre’mont Jones, Justin Jones
Deatrich Wise Jr., New England Patriots
Deatrich Wise is playing some great football this season. Wise is playing a very percentage of snaps (83%, 90%, 73%) over the course of the first three games. Playing a high snap count not only creates opportunity to score but also creates a high floor—something all fantasy managers love. There is nothing worse than getting a zero from a player in your lineup. Wise has made some splash plays as well this season. He already has 4 sacks and a forced fumble to go along with his 13 tackles.
BJ Hill, Cincinnati Bengals
BJ Hill is another player, like Wise, who has been very productive while seeing a very high snap count to start the season. Hill has played near or above 70% in all three games to start the season, which puts him third on the team behind Sam Hubbard and Trey Hendrickson for snaps. Not too bad of company! Hill has been strong in the run game, racking up some decent tackle numbers from the interior but also has 1.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries, and 1 batted pass. I love the volume of plays he is getting and also love how often he is around the ball.
