IDP Waiver Wire: Week 11
It's "put up or shut up" time in the fantasy football season. If you're ready to put up, let's find you some good IDP options on your waiver wire.
We have officially reached that part of the season where one more loss will push some teams out of the playoff race and make them immediate sellers for the rest of the remaining teams in the league. Let’s keep you from being one of those teams.
Here is a look at some of the players who should be on your waiver wire who you can roster to help you continue your playoff run this season.
Defensive Line
Marcus Davenport, New Orleans Saints
With a much healthier D-Line over the past few weeks, the Saints are becoming one of the more feared D-Lines in all of the NFL. Marcus Davenport, coming back from an injury he suffered in Week 1, has been on fire over the last 3 weeks. Playing more than 60% in the last 4 weeks, and north of 70% in the last 2, Davenport has 12 combined tackles, 3 sacks, and a forced fumble.
It’s a BIG EASY to add Davenport if he is available!
Deatrich Wise, New England Patriots
Deatrich Wise has had a great season on the New England Patriots. He is easily the snap leader on the Patriot’s D-Line and that, as you know, is one of the most important stat lines you can have as an IDP! Wise has a primo matchup this week against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night, where he should be on a first-name basis with Matt Ryan. Be WISE and add Deatrich this week.
(I promise I will stop with the terrible play on words—you deserve better!)
Defensive Backs
Jevon Holland, Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins looked like Hall of Famers on Thursday night against the Baltimore Ravens and a huge part of that was their secondary. The rookie Jevon Holland was all over the backfield against Lamar Jackson and company.
Holland has been playing very solid since Week 5; he has played all but one snap since that time! I think Miami found something this last game that we will tend to see used more and more with Holland as a blitzer. Miami gets the Jets this week, which should provide some fireworks for the Miami defense.
Amani Oruwariye, Detroit Lions
When you play in a division with wide receivers like Davante Adams, Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, etc. you are going to be targeted over and over again. Amani Oruwariye has played all but a handful of snaps for the Lions this season, and if you saw the game on Sunday, you know why the Detroit defense is on the field as much as they are. With games against all 3 division foes and Atlanta and Arizona remaining this season, we can expect plenty of targets headed Amani’s way.
Linebackers
Kyzir White, Los Angeles Chargers
Kyzir White is one of those guys that seems to have up and down seasons. This is the up season for sure! White is having a great season for the boys in powder blue. White has almost as many tackles in 9 games this season as he has put up in any previous full season he has played in. White has 8 or more combined tackles in his last 4 games.
Shockingly, White is owned in less than 15% of leagues, which seems odd as he is currently a very solid backend LB2.
Tae Crowder, New York Giants
Tae Crowder came in for the injured Blake Martinez a few weeks ago and has been a bright spot for Big Blue. Crowder has been on the field almost every snap since Week 3 and has had double-digit points from the linebacker spot every week since. Crowder had a bye last week, and a manager in a pinch may have dropped him. This would be a great time to swoop in and get him on your roster. With 4 great matchups for linebackers in the next few weeks, Tae makes a lot of sense for any roster.
Well, once again, that will wrap up this week. I want to thank each and every one of you who takes their time to read these weekly articles and finds some value in them. Also, very much appreciate those of you who reach out with those start/sit questions and those trade ideas. Keep them coming, everyone!
Have a great week and I’ll chat with you again soon.
