It’s easy at the end of each NFL season to look at where players ranked in fantasy football, but understanding why they finished where they did is often more important when projecting for the future.

While Tackles vs Expected for the Linebacker, Safety, and Cornerback positions is more about providing context on the league’s most effective and least effective tacklers, the defensive line’s Expected Sacks metric is used more to help predict positive and negative sack regression candidates.

As highlighted in the images below, Expected Sacks are our most stable and predictive metrics for the defensive line position.
