DL Streaming 101: Week 17

Finals week is here and ProfessorIDP is providing his most extensive DL streaming study guide yet for Week 17.

With championship week upon us for most leagues, this is going to be the most steak and least sizzle of any article this season. After a very brief recap of Week 16, I’ll be providing a list with tiers and crucial metrics for every single DT or DE that is currently rostered in less than 50% of IDP leagues on MyFantasyLeague (these players are likely even more widely available on Sleeper since my State of IDP data shows me that MFL leagues tend to have significantly larger roster than those hosted on Sleeper).

Last week had the typical highs and lows you would expect with DL streaming given the natural volatility within the position in general. With no Tier 1 plays, Tier 2 averaged 9.92 NPLB fantasy points highlighted by Chauncey Golston and K'Lavon Chaisson as well as three other viable starters.

Tiers 3 and 4 struggled more averaging 7.13 points per game with only Isaiah McGuire and Arnold Ebiketie being boom plays at 20+ points each. For the week, our average was 8.525 bringing the season-long number down slightly to 10.77.

For Week 17, I used the same modeling that has held up well this season to present 42 DL options for your streaming consideration. As mentioned above, I loosened the criteria from players available in at least 75% of IDP leagues to those free in greater than 50% to give you more flexibility for your championship week.

As always, check for actives/inactives that would either help or hurt an individual player before making your lineup decisions. Feel free to use the data I provide to help your decision-making as you know your risk tolerance, league setup, and needs this week. My modeling values floor over ceiling so you will see someone like Vita Vea in Tier 1 despite a tough matchup. Fantasy managers looking for a bigger swing might move down one player to Osa Odighizuwa whose grades are slightly worse but plays comparable snaps and has a much better matchup.
