DL Streaming 101: Week 10
Professor IDP looks at the best DE and DT streaming options in your IDP fantasy football leagues for Week 10.
Welcome to the Week 10 edition of DL Streaming 101!
We’ve officially hit double-digits in the fantasy season, and with league trade deadlines looming, what better chance to consider dumping some of your DL studs for a premium and dipping your toe in the streaming waters!
They say all good things must come to an end, and so goes the two-week streak of streaming over 10 points per game. Week 9 was disappointing, but not disastrous, as steaming options averaged 8.7 PPG. That 8.7 number is still higher than the output of several studs last week, with DeForest Buckner, Kobie Turner, Jonathan Greenard, and Micah Parsons all failing to meet that mark.
Overall, streaming has now had a 42.7% success rate (streamers scoring over 10 pts) with 12.3% boom games (over 20 pts), and only 4.7% who would have left you with a 0 for the week. I also tier options each week, and those tiers are holding strong with Ideal plays averaging 14.6, Solid averaging 9.9, and Solid (deeper) is at 8 points per game.
The full list of streamers (with underlying data) is presented below, but this week I highlight three edges and three interior defenders. The final two names might be riskier plays, but they are also available in more than 95% of IDP leagues according to Sleeper and MyFantasyLeague (with all others this week free in at least 67% of IDP leagues).
Featured DL Streamers
Alex Wright, DE, CLE (🎓🎓🎓)
The Browns have long been desperate for someone to step up opposite Myles Garrett. Enter Alex Wright, the former 3rd round pick who has never really found his footing. The 2025 season is shaping up to be the best of Wright’s professional career, and Week 10 seems like it will provide ample fantasy scoring opportunities.
Cleveland takes on the New York Jets this week, who just completed a major fire sale on defense but kept their offense intact, reportedly rebuffing calls on Breece Hall, Garrett Wilson, and others. While Wright will draw solid tackle Armand Membou, the Jets rank eighth in fantasy points allowed to opposing edges, frequently allowing double-digit games from multiple edge rushers.
The area that keeps Wright out of the Ideal category is his snap share. His snap share ceiling in 2025 is 68% which is enough to do some damage, but fewer opportunities than we would like to see.
Jermaine Johnson, DE, NYJ (🎓🎓🎓)
On the other side of this matchup, Jermaine Johnson of the Jets was another player to garner trade interest, but the Jets retained his services. As much as I like Johnson from a rest-of-season and dynasty perspective, I do have some concerns about what he will look like without Quinnen Williams attracting attention and Sauce Gardner making opposing QBs move on to another read. Still, Johnson is a very talented player who plays ideal snaps and has a plus matchup, making him a solid Week 10 DL streamer.
From a talent perspective, his grades are middling but are drawn from a small sample size. Despite playing 80 fewer snaps than teammate Will McDonald, Johnson has two fewer pressures and six more tackles. In the pre-bye shootout with the Bengals, Johnson played 92% of snaps (his third game over 50 total defensive snaps). Finally, the Browns rank 10th in points allowed to opposing defensive ends thus far in 2025, but have improved in recent weeks, allowing less than 20 fantasy points per game across their last two. While this is not ideal, it does suggest a solid opportunity for Johnson in Week 10.
Jalon Walker, DE, ATL (🎓🎓🎓)
Last week, I recommended the wrong Falcons first-round edge in James Pearce (while noting the risk with Jalon Walker set to come back). Pearce’s snaps dropped to 49% while Walker played a season-high 65% snap share with great success (two sacks). Consider riding the hot hand again in Week 10 if you roster Walker or he is available on waivers.
Walker has nine pressures, two sacks, and seven tackles across his last two games, with underlying metrics pointing to sustained success. Walker is the third-highest graded rookie pass-rusher this season with a current grade of 71.8, according to PFF. His aforementioned snap share is also trending in the right direction (while not yet in the 70%+ range we like).
The Falcons take on the Colts in Week 10, with Indianapolis trying to bounce back from a game in which they allowed performances of greater than 30 (Highsmith), 20 (Watt), and 10 (Sawyer) to the Steelers. While the Falcons’ pass rush is far less formidable, it is arguably the third-best that the Colts have faced in 2025.
Alim McNeill, DT, DET (🎓🎓)
I have already written one dissertation, but if I were to write a second, my subject could easily be Alim McNeill, whom I just can’t seem to quit. As much of a fan as I am of his game, he is likely a better NFL player than fantasy asset, which is why I (begrudgingly) place him in the solid (deeper) tier this week.
In his two games since returning from injury, McNeill has put up uncharacteristically mediocre grades (50.2 run defense, 59.7 pass rush) but has already generated seven QB pressures. Detroit has also wasted no time easing McNeill into the lineup as he played 82% of snaps last week.
This week, Detroit takes on the Commanders who will once again be without Jayden Daniels. This is a large part of what drives down my optimism for McNeill this week, as teams have averaged under 10 points from the defensive tackle position during Marcus Mariota’s four previous starts this season.
Travis Jones, DT, BAL (🎓🎓)
Baltimore Ravens’ big man, Travis Jones, just missed my streaming list last week when he also graded out as a tier 3 play. Jones must have taken this slight personally as he recorded his first sack of the season on his way to a 12.55 point fantasy performance.
Jones has only eclipsed 70% of snaps twice this season, but has played 66% or more in each of his past three contests. In Nnamdi Madubuike’s absence, Jones has become the most viable interior defender for the Ravens and is coming off the highest graded game of his career (89.6 overall).
While J.J. McCarthy looked much improved in his return last week, at the start of the season, he generated a massive number of pressures and allowed big games to interior defenders such as Gervon Dexter of the Bears and Brandon Dorlus of the Falcons. Jones looks to be the next player to increase his profile at the expense of McCarthy and the Vikings in Week 10.
Tershawn Wharton, DT, CAR (🎓🎓)
Tershawn Wharton now makes the trifecta of Panthers’ interior defenders featured in this series in 2025, with Derrick Brown and A’Shawn Robinson previously making appearances. While these players have paid off more often than not, Brown is now rostered in over half of IDP leagues, and Robinson’s snaps plummeted last week, opening the door for Wharton.
Wharton is more of a floor play than most of the options listed above. He has three or more tackles in four of five games this season and played 92% of snaps last week. That is not to say that Wharton does not have upside. Last week, he recorded his first sack of the season and this week his team takes on the Saints who are starting a rookie QB who gave up a sack to Braden Fiske of the Rams in Week 9.
If you enjoy this series, please consider filling out the 2025 State of IDP survey here. This year’s survey is a new, shorter format that you only need to fill out once (goodbye, one survey per league!) and contains only five questions. It is the data we received from past surveys that has partially helped to shape this article from DT streaming to DL streaming (given how many leagues use DL vs separate DT and DE).
Good luck, and if you have any questions about deep DL plays, my office is always open on Twitter (@ProfessorIDP).
