HOW TO READ THE DATA:
(Optimal Opponent) = Teams in parentheses are the offenses that generated these tackle numbers. They are NOT the IDPs we are using; they’re the offense.
POSITION TO TARGET = Defenses represented in full names/all caps drawing the positive matchup from which we can pull best IDPs. These are the teams whose IDPs we should be looking at.
LAST 3 GAMES (Average) = This column helps us uncover trends in the opposing offense that aren’t weighed down by full-season totals. This is mostly useful for recent major changes to an offense, e.g., a quarterback change.

Sorry, I am confused by these charts. (Optimal opponent) is the team that is going against the stats provided, or is it the other way around? For example, DT #1 (HST) vs. Cincinnati. Bengals is the top matchup, so does that mean HST Texans DT's are the best optimal to use because the Bengals provided DTs the 17 tackles per game or am I confusing that backwards? Sorry for the dumb question!
