We all know the frustration of looking at a fantasy site’s default ADP only to find that it was clearly not calculated with IDP leagues in mind. That changes now with the release of our new combined offense+IDP rookie ADP, featuring data from nearly 200 completed or in progress drafts with ADP for 138 rookies.
The IDP After Show hosts Jake Kohlhagen and Scott Soltis have cultivated this growing list of leagues based on data from the State of IDP Survey about how you play IDP. As a result, this ADP is drawn from leagues that are most similar to the average IDP league, meaning:
12 teams
15-22 total starters
Between 40-60% of starters are IDP
Roughly half use 5 IDP positions (DT, DE, LB, CB, S) and half use 3 (DL, LB, DB)
No devy leagues
No multiple-player copy leagues
Separate ADP breakdowns for 1-QB and Superflex formats.
We plan to update the data weekly through mid-June (bi-weekly after), so take this data, pair it with our rankings, and go win your draft!
The IDP Show Rookie ADP - June Updates
We are thrilled to see the reaction to the ADP we have generated and updated over the past few weeks. With the start of June comes a big development in Rookie ADP…the addition of Sleeper draft data!
In this week’s update, we have jumped from over 200 leagues to nearly 1,000 in total by adding drafts from the Sleeper platform. This means you now have four sets of ADP to help guide your drafting!
We kept these two popular IDP platforms separate for a few reasons:
Sleeper assigns some players with dual positional designations, which can shape the value of some individual players (see David Bailey this year)
Sleeper uses three IDP positions (DL, LB, DB), whereas most MFL leagues use five (DT, DE, LB, CB, S)
Sleeper is a mixture of paid leagues and free leagues (allowing for more low-to-no-stakes drafts in the data), whereas the site hosting fee at MFL tends to draw almost exclusively paid leagues
We applied the same parameters to these new Sleeper leagues to make them as generalizable to your drafts as possible (12-team leagues with 15-22 total starters, 40-60% of starters are IDP).
The last note we have is a clarification. You will find a few non-rookies in the dataset. We have been meticulous in eliminating any keeper or devy drafts from the databases, but given that many leagues allow for FAs to be included in a rookie draft, where these players are going can be instructive, so we opted not to prune them.
