2025 IDP Waiver Wire: Week 6
Who are the IDPs you should target on the waiver wire in your league?
The injuries are piling up and the bye weeks are wreaking havoc. Thankfully, players are stepping up, including some exciting rookies, and there is still good value available on the waiver wire.
Whether you need starters, injury replacements, or potential bye week fill-ins, I’ve got you covered. We all play in leagues of varying depth—with different IDPs on the waiver wire—so I’m going to identify IDP waiver targets at each position for shallow, average, and deep leagues. I’m using data from PFF and NFL Pro. Rostership percentage (in parentheses) is from Sleeper dynasty leagues.
Let’s dive into this week’s targets.
Defensive Back
Shallow: Xavier Watts, S, Atlanta Falcons (37%)
Rookie Xavier Watts has been a revelation for Atlanta and deserves to be rostered in every IDP format that requires defensive backs. He’s already delivered 22 tackles, 2 interceptions, and is averaging 15.75 fantasy points per game using Big 3 Scoring.
He’s playing 99% of defensive snaps, nearly half of which (49.8%) are in the “sweet spot” (box, slot, or D-line). Add in his steady weekly output (between 12–18 points each game), and you’ve got a consistent, high-floor producer with legitimate playmaking upside. With his bye week behind him, Watts is a plug-and-play option rest of season.
Average: Mike Sainristil, CB, Washington Commanders (23%)
I was surprised to see Mike Sainristil wasn’t rostered more after being a splashy fantasy darling late last season and a popular pick in best ball drafts this summer. He’s a high-upside corner with elite usage, playing 89% of snaps and lining up in the “sweet spot” a fantastic 85.7% of the time. He’s produced 26 tackles and 2 interceptions so far and remains a must-roster player in CB-required leagues.
Sainristil has started to make the big plays again over the last couple of weeks, so it may already be too late, but if he is available in your average-sized league or in a CB-required league, grab him now.
