2025 IDP Waiver Wire: Week 5
Who are the IDPs you should target on the waiver wire in your league?
The IDP landscape is changing fast. Injuries are forcing backups into full workloads, underlying metrics are screaming positive regression for some big names, and a few under-the-radar guys are starting to carve out roles.
Whether you need starters, injury replacements, or potential bye week fill-ins, I’ve got you covered. We all play in leagues of varying depth—with different IDPs on the waiver wire—so I’m going to identify IDP waiver targets at each position for shallow, average, and deep leagues. I’m using data from PFF and NFL Pro. Rostership percentage (in parentheses) is from Sleeper dynasty leagues.
Let’s dive into this week’s targets.
Defensive Line
Shallow: Josh Hines-Allen, EDGE, Jacksonville Jaguars (63%)
This one feels like theft. Josh Hines-Allen is only rostered in 63% of leagues, which is absurd given the metrics he’s putting up. Yes, the sack numbers haven’t materialized yet, but every underlying stat screams positive regression. He’s played 77.8% of snaps and logged 23 pressures (3rd among EDGEs), 8 QB hits (tied for 1st), and a 22.5% win rate, all while carrying elite defense and pass rush PFF grades. The sacks are coming, and when they do, everyone who ignored him will regret it.
The lesson here is simple: don’t chase sacks, chase pressures. Hines-Allen is winning consistently and putting himself in position to deliver the kind of big weeks that swing matchups. If he’s available in your league, fix that today; he should be rostered everywhere.
Average: Laiatu Latu, EDGE, Indianapolis Colts (44%)
If you’ve been listening to The IDP Show, you’re probably already stashing Laiatu Latu. For everyone else, here’s the breakdown: his 30% pass rush win rate ranks 3rd among EDGEs with at least 10 rush snaps, and his underlying pressure numbers are already strong: 15 pressures in just three games. He’s also seeing a steady workload at 62% of snaps, and his PFF grades are great (92.3 defense and 83 pass rush).
He finally got his first sack of the season in Week 4, and there should be plenty more to come. Latu is showing signs of being a difference-maker, and by midseason, he could be a popular name in IDP leagues. Don’t wait—grab him now in average-sized leagues and thank everyone here at The IDP Show later.
