I hope you all had a terrific Thanksgiving weekend. I’ve been thankful for all of you reading this article each week. With any luck, it has helped you make the playoffs. It’s the last week of the regular season for most leagues. Some players listed below will help this week, some will help your playoff run, and some will do both.

We all play in leagues of varying depth—with different IDPs on the waiver wire—so I’m going to identify IDP waiver targets at each position for shallow, average, and deep leagues. I’m using data from PFF and NFL Pro. Rostership percentage (in parentheses) is from Sleeper dynasty leagues. Any reference to fantasy points per game is based on Big 3 Scoring.

Let’s dive into this week’s targets.

Defensive Line

Shallow: Danielle Hunter, EDGE, Houston Texans (75%)

Danielle Hunter has been one of the best defensive linemen this season. He has played 73% of snaps and produced 58 pressures, 11 sacks, and a 22% win rate, all of which rank in the top six among edge rushers.

The matchup this week could be juicy. Kansas City is top 10 in tackles allowed to defensive linemen at 17 per game, and their offensive line is banged up heading into Week 14. Rookie left tackle Josh Simmons may miss time with a dislocated and fractured wrist, and both Jawaan Taylor and Trey Smith are dealing with injuries that could also sideline them. Hunter and Will Anderson could put significant pressure on the Chiefs, especially if all 3 offensive linemen are out.

Houston’s upcoming schedule is excellent as well, with Arizona, Las Vegas, and the Chargers on deck, all top six in sacks allowed. Hunter should be rostered in all IDP leagues and has one of the best rest-of-season schedules among edge players.

Average: Yaya Diaby, EDGE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (19%)

Yaya Diaby has played 74.4% of snaps and posted 6 sacks, 41 pressures, a 16.5% win rate, and 33 tackles on the season. His upcoming schedule from Weeks 14 to 17 is encouraging, with games against New Orleans, Atlanta, Carolina, and Miami. New Orleans and Carolina both allow close to three sacks per game, giving Diaby a strong chance to add to his totals. New Orleans is also the 11th best team for tackles to opposing defensive linemen and has been fifth in that category since Tyler Shough took over at quarterback 4 weeks ago.

Diaby averages 10 points per game, but I think he could fare better over the next few weeks. He is a solid add in average-sized leagues, especially for managers searching for an EDGE going into the playoffs.
