2024 IDP Waiver Wire: Week 18
Mike Woellert identifies the IDP targets on this week's waiver wire.
For those who have their title game in Week 18: I applaud the lunacy. I’ve got you covered as you try to navigate the potential playoff implications, and teams with nothing to play for.
It’s the last week of waiver claims, so here are your Week 18 IDP targets.
Linebacker
Chandler Wooten, Carolina Panthers
The Panthers were without Josey Jewell in Week 17, and we’re unsure of his status heading into Week 18.
Chandler Wooten stepped in, handled the play-calling duties, and was on the field for 100% of the snaps in Week 17. The PFF grades weren’t great (27.4 overall), but that doesn’t determine fantasy points — although it does tell me the Panthers are hoping Jewell is ready to play.
This was one of Wooten’s better plays, where he stacked up Bucky Irving for no gain. He does have a good first step:
Wooten led the defense in tackles (14) and recorded an 18.2% tackle rate, missing on 2 attempts. Six of his tackles had an average tackle depth of 2.6 yards. Wooten appears to be Jewell’s replacement with the green dot, so if he’s out this week, Wooten has a decent matchup with the Falcons.
