2024 IDP Waiver Wire: Week 17
Mike Woellert identifies the IDP targets on this week's waiver wire.
Week 17 is Championship Week for most of us. Hopefully, you overcame any duds or injuries in Week 16 to make your league’s Marvelous Round Container for Holding Food or Liquids. (Hey, I don’t want the NFL issuing us any fines around here.)
As you set your claims for Week 17, here are your targets on the IDP waiver wire.
Linebacker
Cedric Gray, Tennessee Titans
Kenneth Murray, Jerome Baker, and Otis Reese will be the injuries to monitor this week. Murray hurt his wrist, and Cedric Gray ended up playing a significant role.
It took a few injuries, but Cedric Gray finally saw regular-season defensive snaps. Reese and Murray left the game, and Gray took over and wore the dot on defense, playing 29 snaps in the second half (35 total).
Gray played like a rookie but made decent plays and missed on just one tackle, resulting in an 8.3% missed tackle rate. PFF gave him a 37.7 grade (not great) and he allowed 31 yards after the catch when targeted.
He makes a nice tackle here on Jonathan Taylor to limit him to a few yards. He’s decisive and hits the gap:
He finished with an elite (and unsustainable) 31.4% tackle rate and 0.69 fantasy points per snap. Tennessee has been ravaged by injury, so keep an eye on the status of Kenneth Murray, Jerome Baker, Otis Reese, and Luke Gifford heading into Week 17.
