2024 IDP Waiver Wire: Week 10
Mike Woellert identifies the IDP targets on this week's waiver wire.
The middle of the season is a perfect time for some unexpected benchings, but we’ve also had some welcome additions and increased roles for a few defenders recently.
It’s time to make those adjustments, and that’s what we’re here for. Let’s look ahead to Week 10 and the names you need to be aware of on your IDP waiver wire.
Linebacker
Trenton Simpson, Baltimore Ravens
The Simpsons has been renewed for the season, as Trenton Simpson appears to have some life heading into the second half of the season.
Simpson was coming off a solid game against Cleveland where saw over 95% of the snaps. Would the usage continue in Week 9? It did, as he saw all but 2 snaps, so it appears he now has a three-down role.
Simpson looked quick and decisive and had just one tackle that went for over 6 yards. Simpson’s average tackle depth was 1.7 yards, so he was active around the line of scrimmage. He’s graded well in tackling over the last few weeks and has a 5.8% missed tackle rate.
Simpson acted as the spy on Bo Nix to be a stopper for his scrambling. Here was the sack he got on Nix. It looked like he was dropped into coverage, but he kept his eyes up and as soon as he saw him move from the pocket, he burst to close in on the sack:
Simpson recorded a 12.9% tackle rate and finished with 9 tackles and with his increased usage in the defense, is looking like an LB3.
